You will hold a senior role within the Purchasing department and you'll be able to make an impact and improve internal working processes and frameworks.
The Senior Global Purchasing Manager will lead the Plastic, Chemical, and Packaging commodity team within the Purchasing organization.
This role focuses on cultivating strong relationships and strategic partnerships with key suppliers to achieve sustainable cost savings, ensure flexibility, and secure the necessary capacity to support future growth objectives.
Your activities will include:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute a global strategy for assigned commodities, focusing on an integrated, long-term approach that ensures the company gains a competitive edge in the marketplace.
Establish and maintain a strategically sized and capable supplier network, fostering high-level executive relationships and conducting regular performance reviews.
Partner with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to enhance design and material selection, ensuring competitive costs, exceptional quality, and consistent supply continuity, particularly for new product development.
Oversee supplier management activities, including price negotiations (involving total cost of ownership analysis, supply constraint intelligence, and raw material index tracking), the development of "should cost" models, and contract preparation and finalization.
Proactively monitor, assess, and address supplier risks to minimize potential disruptions.
Empower and develop the team to achieve operational excellence and strategic goals.
Your profile:
University Degree in a relevant field.
At least 10 years of experience in global sourcing, including at least 2 years of experience in a leadership function managing an international sourcing team.
Experience within the Automotive manufacturing industry.
Fluent English language skills.
Personal Attributes: awareness, critical thinking, ethical, accountability, teamwork, communication skills, and milestone experience. Strategic thinker and results oriented.
Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
